- Deposits.
Deposits, costs, and fees required for
the filing of adoptions are set forth in Appendix B.
- Expense Hearing.
In all adoptions, except by a stepparent
or where the child was permanently surrendered and/or
placed by an Ohio licensed adoption agency, the petitioners
shall appear in open court, before the Judge or Magistrate
of the Probate Court, and swear under oath as to any and
all expenses being incurred and paid by them to any party
or parties involved in the adoption matter before the
Court. Costs of the reporter to the petitioner.
- Notice of Hearing on Petition for Adoption (R.C. 3107.11).
Form 18.2 must be served not less than
thirty (30) days prior to the date of
the final adoption hearing. The failure to file an objection
at least seven (7) days before the hearing
may result in the termination of parental rights.

All R.C. 3107.10 preliminary estimate
accountings and R.C. 3107.083 birth parent forms shall
be filed with the Court on or before the date of the scheduled
placement hearing.

Only forms currently in use by the
Probate Court will be accepted.
